711 Walnut Street, Chattanooga • 1912 - 1916
built as the Walnut Street Christian Church 1886 - 1910
These 3 photos are from the new book:
Chattanooga In Photos Around the Turn of the Century:
The Remarkable Stokes Collection, edited by
John Wilson, chattanoogan.com 2014.
Their presence in the book implies that they are photos of
the Universalist Church of Chattanooga ca. 1885-1915.
The problem is that these pictures do not resemble the
Universalist Churches at Harriman or at Chattanooga,
both served by L. R. Robinson.
Will now have to make a list of all the churches Robinson served,
then find & check their photos to see if any of them have
lancet door arches, a gothic stained glass window with
perpindicular flattened ovals & a left-of-center tower
that could be 'the mystery church'.
